A Twist of Fate: Chapter 19Flight Angel’s eyes slowly opened just as the first morning light filtered through the sheltering pines. The forest was cool, and hung with a wispy, rolling fog that made the shafts of sunlight dance in otherworldly haze. She slowly stirred to her feet, shaking off the dew with a quick twitch of her withers before heading out into the welcoming dawn. The noise that had awoken her echoed through the forest again, and as she broke through the brambles, her eyes laid upon a sight that she had only ever been told stories about as a foal.

Walking towards her up the valley wall, was a small herd of horses.

There is no Eulogy
For a broken heart.

No one weeps as it withers,
And dies in the cold of night.

Man or woman, friend or foe,
Neither attends the open casket,
Or weeps in its stead.

It is I who stands alone,
Staring at a lifetime of memories.

I remember,
I remember it all.

Every scar, every moment,
Every flutter and overflowing,
But it is too late.

The earth is cold to the touch,
But I do not feel it.

My hands bleed as I dig my grave,
And lower my heart within,

The hole is dark,
It reflects the emptiness,
And I cover it quickly.

I leave no headstone,
No memorial for passers-by.

Who are these foals? Can you guess? They do not have colors or markings because that would have easily given it away. The first person to comment on this and guess them all correctly will get a free headshot in the same style as these, drawn and colored (digitally or traditionally) of their character in the pose and with the expression of their choice. I will not reveal who they are until there is a winner, and you can only comment with a guess once.

Otherwise, what do you guys think of these sketches? They're the first horses I've drawn in a very long time and I am not sure how I feel about them. Am I as rusty at drawing as I think I am? ^^; I'm hoping this little "Mini Contest" will give me the jumpstart I need to get back into drawing, and I will be coloring these little cuties to reveal their identities once there is a winner. Should I color them digitally or traditionally?

Number 3 was really tough for me :lol: and I'm still not 100% sure on any of them. :XD: I considered 3 could be Slate but I dunno. :shrug: Can't wait to find out who is really who! ^^ I love AToF :P I always wish there was more up, whether it be the rewritten or the old one. :XD: Hope you can get back into drawing, I love seeing your charries and adore the story! :la: :eager: :D
