This is Loaf how I know him and see him. Adorable, incredibly intelligent and very affectionate. He is his mommy's little boy! And our snuggling wouldn't be complete without crud for me to pick out of his hair. (I don't call him Crudmuffin for nothing!) He is, all-in-all, a boy, and therefore cares very little about his personal hygiene. He has much better things to do, like inspect the room for any kind of change (which upsets him because he has OCD, so it's very important that he checks every day right after his morning poop), lay infront of the AC, beg for treats and nap. (It's a very full day. There is absolutely no time for unnecessary grooming.) I wish he had a little more interest in cleanliness so there wasn't so much on me and he didn't have to get taken to the Groomer once a month, but what can I do? I haven't figured out the bunny body language yet to tell him he needs to keep himself cleaner.
Anyway, I really like how you can really see in this picture how his dark brown eyes are framed with tanish eyelids. If they weren't, I don't even think you'd be able to see his eyes!
I don't think I've ever seen eyes as dark in color as his. We talk so much just through simple eye-contact. Whoever thinks rabbits are stupid and soulless only needs to look into their eyes for just a moment. They may not have a spoken language like dogs or cats, but they have a highly complex body language that, even after living with rabbits 24/7 in close quarters for 4 years, I am still learning how to read. The majority of people just don't know how to "listen" to what they're saying.
He does have gorgeous dark eyes and I do love those eyelids! They make his eyes stick out, otherwise they might as well be invisible! He does have a busy day doesn't he! I can easily see him scoffing at the "unnecessary" grooming. Of course they have their own language, how else are they going to communicate with each other! I can't understand why people are so ignorant to think they're some dumb animal that just eats, sleeps and poos all day. Most people can't even read dogs, I wouldn't expect someone who hasn't learned about animal communication to know. It's to bad because it can be so obvious, I love watching and reading horses, it's so clear it isn't something I have to think about it's just a second language and I'm sure that's how it is with you and bunnies, dogs, horses, etc. :3 It's fun reading your descriptions and learning more about bunnies! It's been so long since we've had them, I really miss and want a bun or pair of guineas but shouldn't get any other animals right now.
True on all counts! I'm glad you get so much out of my descriptions! Sometimes I think I just go on and on and on, and people don't really care; they just want to glance at the kyoot bunny and not be bothered with specifics! But your comments are always so in-depth. That in itself encourages me to be myself and ramble as much as I want to! Sometimes that's all it takes!
Of course they have their own language, how else are they going to communicate with each other!
